The best way to reach Canada Crime Map is by email: ggshop@safety-app.uk. We read every message and reply to those that need an answer.
In an emergency, call 911. Canada Crime Map is not a police or emergency service. We cannot take crime reports, pass information to police or send help. To report a crime that is not an emergency, contact your local police service directly. Our guide on how to report a crime in Canada explains the options.
We do not have a phone line or a public office address, and there is no contact form on the site yet. Email is the only way to contact us.
What you can contact us about
- Corrections. If you think a figure, date or statement on our site is wrong, tell us the page address, what you think is wrong and, if possible, the official source. We check every correction request against the original table.
- Data questions. Questions about where a number comes from, how we calculated a comparison or why a city appears where it does in a ranking. Our data sources and methodology pages may already have the answer.
- Press and media. Journalists are welcome to ask about our figures. Please remember that the underlying statistics belong to Statistics Canada and the police services that publish them; cite them as the source.
- Partnerships and advertising. Proposals from relevant organisations are welcome. Partners never influence our editorial content; see our advertising disclosure.
- Safety App Canada. Questions about our planned app; see the Safety App Canada page first.
- Privacy requests. Requests to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you; see our privacy policy.
What we cannot help with
- Reporting a crime, a suspicious person or an incident in progress (call 911 or your local police).
- Information about individual people, cases, arrests or court proceedings.
- Advice about whether a particular person, home or street is safe. We publish area-level statistics only.
- Legal, insurance or financial advice.
When to expect a reply
We aim to reply within five business days. Correction requests can take a little longer, because we check them against the official tables before changing anything. If we correct a page, we update the date on it and, for significant errors, add a short note explaining what changed (see our editorial policy).
We may not reply to messages that are abusive, promotional or unrelated to the site.
Your information
When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to deal with your message and keep it only as long as needed. Please do not send sensitive personal information, such as details of a crime you experienced. See our privacy policy for details.
